Timothy Leary

May 31, 2019

Timothy Leary, psychologist, and advocate of using psychedelic drugs under controlled conditions, was the focus of the 1968 Moody Blues song, Legend of a Mind, that began, "Timothy Leary's dead. No, no, he's outside looking in." National Paperclip Day?

May 29, 2019

May 25th 1977 was especially exciting because the first Star Wars Film was released beginning George Lucas's franchise. Lucas introduced us to Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, and Darth Vader. The $11 million production cost was quickly eclipsed by box office revenues of $775.4 million. Our favorite Jedi Master, Yoda, would not appear until the 1980 release of The Empire Strikes Back.

Looking for a good pairing as you watch vintage Star Wars? Try Death Star Concentrate from Cowlitz Gold. THC:0.642%, CBD:0%, 1g $20.00.

Sugar! Sugar! Sugar!

May 23, 2019

If you thought National Taffy Day might be sponsored by the American Dental Association, we assure you that they are definitely against the sticky substance. Matter of fact, dentists don't think Laffy Taffy is a laughing matter since it can pull teeth out. Taffy pulling parties were popular in the mid-1800s. About that same time, saltwater taffy came onto the scene in Atlantic City.

Taffy comes in many forms. The photo is of maple taffy before it's been pulled smooth. Looks a lot like terp sugar...

Vintage with Style

Just days after Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980, Namco released Pac-Man (called Puckman) in Japan. Before being released in the states, game maker Midway changed the name from Puckman to Pac-Man to avoid any vandalism to the name from people changing the "P" to an "F".  If you've got a hankering to chase ghosts Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde, you're in luck because Bandai Namco has mobile apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Speaking of games, did you know that Candyland was developed by Eleanor Abbott in 1948 while she was recovering from...
